About Ellenton

Escape the crowds and enjoy the quiet side of Maine in a vintage cottage by the shore on the Schoodic peninsula, one of Maine’s most charming areas.  Situated on the cove at the head of the harbor in the coastal fishing village of Prospect Harbor, Ellenton is away from traditional tourist areas yet close to Acadia National Park Schoodic Point and just two hours from Canada.   Secluded yet near everything needed for a perfect holiday in Maine!

Ellenton is a small cottage that lives big.  On an acre of land planted with apple trees and blueberries, the cottage has open rooms with high ceilings and cozy seating areas.  Completely refurbished in 2020 – 2022, the cottage now welcomes summer guests to the rocky coast of Maine.

A massive stone fireplace, equipped with gas logs for convenience, remains the focus of the living area.  The dining area, on the sunporch, has views of the harbor to the south and across the cove to the water fall from Flanders Pond stream.  In fact, every room has a water view.  A deck off the sun porch extends the living area to the outdoors, with a table and chairs and a gas grill for al fresco dining.

There is a tv/reading room behind the living area with plenty of books, games, and puzzles.  Many of the books are by Maine authors.  This room has a trundle bed that sleeps two.

The cottage has one bedroom and one bath.  The bedroom has an iron and brass  bed, queen size, and is set apart from the rest of the house.  The bath has a step-in corner shower and is accessible from both the bedroom and the living area.

The kitchen is fully equipped, so you can eat in or on the deck, prepare a picnic and head to the shore, or enjoy area restaurants that serve local farm-fresh vegetables, lobster, and fresh catch abundant in the area.
